about vince
Vince Li (Wenxiao) is a writer-director whose work bridges narrative filmmaking and commercial production.
His films explore power imbalances and cultural collision, whether it's a bullied schoolgirl protecting her father (Happy Birthday), a village leader reckoning with obsolescence (To the Dust), or a Western mother confronting her son's cross-cultural relationship (A Shared Table). His characters grapple with the tension between tradition and change, authority and self-determination.
His work has screened at festivals including Pingyao International Film Festival (Special Screening curated by Jia Zhangke), Cleveland International Film Festival (Oscar Qualifying), and Paris Short Film Festival, New York International Shorts Film Festival, Sarasota Film Festival, Coney Island Film Festival, Paris Short Film Festival, and the 86358 Jia Village Short Film Festival.
He has also worked on large-scale productions including Jesse Eisenberg's A Real Pain (Academy Award winner) and The Wandering Earth franchise (over $1.29 billion worldwide), as well as campaigns for major brands like Lenovo, featuring Olympic champion Lang Ping.
Vince holds a BFA in Film from the School of Visual Arts in New York, where he received the Silas H. Rhodes Merit Scholarship.
